Announcement for Future HIC Prime Events on Oahu

Aloha Everyone,

Here are the ground rules for the future HIC Prime Events on Oahu:

  1. Each HIC PRIME eligible division will have a certain amount of slots available. The amount of slots available will depend on how many current HSA Members are registered in each division. 
  2. Here is the list of the HIC PRIME eligible divisions along with the number of slots we will have for the 2023 - 2024 season:
    • Boys Shortboard 11 & Under: 12 Slots
    • Boys Shortboard 12 - 13: 12 Slots
    • Boys Shortboard 14 - 15: 24 Slots
    • Boys Shortboard 16 - 17: 12 Slots
    • Girls Shortboard 11 & Under: 4 Slots
    • Girls Shortboard 12 - 13: 8 Slots
    • Girls Shortboard 14 - 15: 8 Slots
    • Girls Shortboard 16 - 17: 8 Slots
  3. HIC PRIME divisions will be members only and will need to pay the $150 entry fee. If you are new to HSA, you will need to sign up for a membership before the competitor receives their jersey or else we will refund you AND deduct a $10 processing fee. 
  4. We will close ALL (Non-Prime and Prime) Events 10 days before the start of the event.
  5. We will post the Heat Draw on the Tuesday of the week of the start of the event.
  6. NO REFUNDS. Unless there is an emergency, the competitor is sick or hurt, or loss of a family member. Competitors will need to show us proof to receive a refund or points.
    • In the event of flight cancellation or delay, refunds won't be issued. To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend booking your accommodations in advance.
  7. NO POINTS will go to competitors if they do not show up, competitors will need to touch water to receive points. 
  8. After registration closes, competitors must show up at the beach to secure a slot or be placed on the alternate list. We will slot competitors in on a first come first serve basis. Please note that a beach entry fee of $200 is required.
  9. In a heat of 5 people, the individual holding the highest rank within the division based on the latest HSA Ratings will secure an automatic place in the final. Following this, a 4-person SEMI heat will take place, with the top 3 advancing to the final round.
  10. Before every HIC PRIME event, we'll update and include each competitor's current HSA ranking next to their name. The Live Heats software will then organize heats according to these rankings. If you don't have a ranking, your entry will have a blank space.
